Blogging attempt - 5 (I think!)
Maybe this time it will actually be a success!! Over the years I've had blogs on various sites - I started Teen Open Diary back in high school. Unfortunately that site is no more and all my entires were lost. I often wonder what I said back then and am curious to see what I "blogged" about back then. In 2003 I moved to Livejournal and I still write there regularly today. I have made many friends there, some of which I've even had the pleasure of meeting in real life. It's a great space to journal, but it seems more of a "private" place to write rather than somewhere to write about what's going on in the world around me. I also started a kitty blog, which did sort of take off, but I never could feel comfortable posting as if my cats were doing the writing themselves. It was just too awkward.
Then in January 2009 I started a Wordpress to document my pregnancy since we were (and still are) so far away from our families. Unfortunately, that pregnancy stopped developing at 6w1d and somewhere during my 8th week, I miscarried. I said I would continue blogging, but that never happened. Then last July when I found out I was pregnant for the second time, I contemplated starting a blog again. However, with the thoughts of miscarriage in my head, I kept putting it off and putting it off. Thankfully, God blessed us with a healthy little girl on April 2, 2011. Today is Samantha's "half birthday" and she is 6 months old and I finally feel ready to start blogging again. So, here we go!
I spent today planning on what to blog and then it came time to create my blog. To start, you have to pick a URL name so that people can find you. Well, every.single.name I wanted was already taken so it took about an hour of me typing name after name until I found something that wasn't already in use. Then you have to set up your layout, and pick a design. Admittedly, I just quickly picked something to have something and I'll spend more time tweaking it later. Then my sister-in-law and brother-in-law arrived from Connecticut for the day and the blog was put on the back burner. So now, here I sit at 10:35pm typing this entry at last.
So for now, I settled on the URL myownjackpot, since my life is my own special jackpot. I've got a great husband (most of the time!) and an amazingly beautiful daughter. We've got a roof over our heads, food in the cabinets, money in our bank accounts, and I can't forget our precious three kitties. What more could I ask for? I'm sure I'll change it once I think of something more creative but for now, I think it will do. As for the background, well those who know me know that I love colors and rainbows so I think it suits me perfectly.
I think this is a good place to start, and I'm happy to be back in the blogging world. Hope you guys are here to stay and enjoy the ride!!

Yaaay! Welcome to the bloggy world!
I think once Heather is back to being wired in, I will start my own blog too =) I look forward to watching Samantha grow! BTW- Do you believe in arranged marriages? Haha, she's just soooo cute!
HAHA!! One of my best friends from home is Indian and her parents are going to arrange her marriage! Joey is pretty darn cute, so I'd have no problems setting them up. ;-)
